What a shame.
An interresting comment from an user at amazon:
Von Gabby "Gabby" (Birmingham, Warwickshire United Kingdom)
This really is a disappointment which I think will bring to a close the "Yes" era for Pet Shop Boys. The song is very pedestrian, and there were many tracks that were better that would have made a far more successful single in ANY country.
PSB's have been plagued by bad management this year in my opinion (and they are under new management, so if I were them I'd be looking for a way out of that contract now!) with poor decisions in single releases, errors on their website, errors on iTunes and incorrectly stapled liner notes in the Ltd Edition of "Yes". It's been a complete shambles.
"Did You See Me Coming?" should never have been released as a single, and their promotional poster competition for their US tour was a shambolic mess. Add to that tour venues moved around and poor choices to be part of V-Fest in Toronto, and then we come finally to the Germany only release of "Beautiful People", a lacklustre, wishy-washy track which at best would make a decent B-side.
2009 was meant to be the Pet Shop Boys year - winning a lifetime achievement award at the BRITS and so much good publicity and exposure, and it's all been for nothing. The album was disappointing in spite of the build up, and nothing so far that they have done has lived up to expectations.
I am a seriously hardcore PSB fan and I am so disappointed to have to write this review. I love what they do, but they need better management and some time to reinvent themselves otherwise they wont have a contract with EMI for much longer!"
